NUTRITION ISSUES IN GASTROENTEROLOGY, SERIES #97
Cyclic Parenteral Nutrition Infusion: Considerations for the ClinicianParenteral nutrition (PN) is typically administered as a 24 hour infusion in acutely ill patients and those requiring only short term PN. Stable patients who require long term or home PN, however, may benefit from a cyclic infusion regimen. Here we review metabolic consequences of cyclic PN infusion.

Recurrent Venous Thromboembolism in Inflammatory Bowel DiseaseVenous thromboembolic events are a relevant cause of morbidity and mortality in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE) among IBD patients is 2- to 4-fold increased compared to non-IBD subjects. Pediatric Practice Gastroenterology (1st Edition, September 2010)
My first impression of Pediatric Practice Gastroenterology was how lightweight and colorful it was. In fact, the best part of this book is the layout and formatting. The chapters are compact (average chapter ranges between 15–20 pages) and easy-to-read. There are plenty of boxed charts with lists, flow diagrams, color illustrations, and images.
