Simultaneous Robotic Placement of Gastric Electrical Neurostimulation System and Pyloroplasty in Gastroparesis PatientsIn this report, we review surgical approaches to treat refractory gastroparesis focusing on simultaneous pyloroplasty and gastric electrical neurostimulator placement demonstrating the safety and efficacy of combining these procedures. We believe the combination of these techniques prevents the negative spiral of hospitalization and malnutrition that creates chronic debilitation and disability in gastroparesis.

To determine whether antiviral therapy (AVT) should be recommended for compensated cirrhosis patients with HBV infection and detectable, but low serum HBV-DNA levels, a retrospective cohort of 385 treatment-nai?ve, HBV-related compensated cirrhotic patients with a mean age of 51 years and with low HBV-DNA levels (less than 2000 IU/mL) was carried out for the development of HCC during a median of 5.6 years of follow-up.

AstraZeneca presented study data at the 2015 PAIN Week National Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, that showed that patients with opioid-induced constipation (OIC) and chronic non-cancer back pain were more likely to report interference with their pain management, health-related quality of life (HRQL) and activity than those prescribed opioid medication for other types of pain.
